Why does my skin need help?

Our skin is continually exposed to UVA, UVB rays and pollutants from the atmosphere. Further damage to the skin comes from smoking, dehydration, the presence of free radicals from our diets and of course the ageing process of time itself. These all contribute to the slowing down of skin repair mechanisms. Ultimately, the balance between the growth of healthy new cells and the sloughing away of old, damaged cells is lost. Additionally, collagen and elastin that provide the youthful firmness of skin begin to break down, causing the skin to lose it's resilience. This results in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Clinical studies have shown an improvement x 3 greater than other commonly used stand alone treatments and x 6 greater improvement in fine lines and wrinkling than over the counter products. In only 12 weeks, patients with mild to moderate photodamaged skin enjoyed greater improvements in key measures of photodamage, including wrinkles, firmness and hyperpigmentation.
